Up to £27,300 per annum (dependent on experience)

Summary of the role

As a Quality Inspector at CIL, you will be primarily responsible for ensuring that parts which pass through quality control, are inspected and handled in accordance with CIL standards. You will also be required to handle non-conformances, whilst applying excellent attention to detail and complete all relevant administration duties.

Primary duties & responsibilities:

  • Carry out Goods Inward inspection for all bespoke component parts entering CIL, through the use of various tools, including an X-Ray machine, in order to identify any potential counterfeit product
  • Support the production inspection team with inspection of electronic assemblies, according to customer specifications and requirements of new and existing products
  • Identify and record any non-conformances to specification requirements by raising the adequate paperwork and segregating any suspect goods
  • Communicate across multiple departments to address any queries with items being inspected
  • Liaise with various functions to support the processing of customer returns
  • Support the Stores department by conducting random inspections on goods received and kits prior to issue and to report on any nonconformities found
  • Identify and process expired materials
  • Organise scrap disposal including chemicals and WEEE
  • Support the Stores department by providing knowledge-based support on queries
  • Investigate customer returns on visual
  • Calibration and general maintenance of equipment used in the Inspection work area

Qualifications

  • Transferable experience in a similar role and a good understanding of Quality control
  • Experience of reading and understanding detailed drawings and diagrams
  • Computer Literate with use of Microsoft Packages
  • Manufacturing/engineering industry knowledge, ideally within Electronics
  • Use of handheld metrology instruments such as Vernier Calipers, Micrometers and Slip Gauges
  • The ability to work well in a team and good communication skills

Desirable:

  • Level 3 Qualification, ideally in electronics engineering or similar
  • Dangerous Goods Awareness
  • IPC-A-600 Acceptability of Printed Circuit Boards
  • Awareness of ESD Control
